About ProofCert
ProofCert provides independent verification for signed PDF credentials.
Purpose
ProofCert helps a recipient determine whether a signed PDF is intact, who signed it, and whether the credential remains current. It is designed for certificates, records, letters, receipts, and other finished PDF documents held by their recipients.
What ProofCert records
ProofCert retains identifiers, cryptographic hashes, issuer keys, timestamps, and credential status. The original PDF, signed PDF, verification upload, and generated report are not stored as document files.
Trust framework
ProofCert operates an independent credential trust framework for signed PDF documents. Each verification result combines cryptographic integrity checks, issuer identity, live credential status, and, where available, public blockchain timestamp evidence.
External PDF reader recognition and legal treatment may vary by trust list, software, and jurisdiction. The public Trust Center documents ProofCert's certificate authority, issuer governance, verification methodology, and status controls.
